"Kim is a good teacher because she is passionate about people and their horses. It is obvious she cares! She takes the time to understand the issues at hand, to define the students goals, to assess the horse and the handler, and most importantly, promotes safety for both horse and rider. Lesson plans are developed accordingly. She teaches with purpose and instills confidence in her students with progressive learning. The opportunity to seek clarification during question periods is appreciated and essential for good comprehension of the task at hand. Kim makes learning enjoyable by bringing her sense of humour to every lesson and her enthusiasm is contagious. I appreciate her honesty - she tells it like it is. She is patient, very observant and very particular to paying attention to detail. She has taught me that the little things count. Students can learn in a fun and pressure free environment...mistakes are ok, she says. She has been instrumental in changing my mindset about my horse and my own capabilities to train my young horse. She has taught me "slow is fast" and with buckets of patience we can attain our goals. She has taught me to focus on the good behaviour and not the bad, to never be "satisfied" with "good enough" and that my horses' emotions are not my emotions. Kim and I have worked together for 3 months now. I have regained confidence after a 25 year absence from the saddle. She has set a solid foundation for my unbroke horse and now I am proudly riding and transferring what was taught on the ground to the saddle. We are proudly strutting our stuff! I look forward to continuing to work with Kim as she guides me and my horse through the many chapters of our learning and I am proud to be a part of the Two Minds - One Ride philosophy!
